Retirement gift collection
Looking for a retirement gift that isn’t another watch or a bottle that’s gone by the weekend? These are eight antique clock quote prints about the one thing retirement really gives back: time. Some are cheeky, some are heartfelt, and all of them are made to hang on a wall at home long after the leaving do.
You can buy all eight as one instant download, or choose single prints that we print to order and ship worldwide, unframed or framed and ready to hang.
The full set of 8
All eight designs as one instant download, with A4 and US Letter files for each. Print one for the card, a few for the leaving do, and frame the favourite for their hallway. Buying the set works out at around 40% less than buying the same prints one by one.
The eight retirement prints
Each one is also sold on its own as a print, unframed or framed in oak, black or white.
Retired? No Hands on the Clock!
For the colleague who has been counting down the days. The joke works on the card and on the wall.
Retired! I’m Off the Clock!
A simple, cheerful line for anyone whose working hours are finally their own.
Spend Money on Silly Adventures
For the retiree with a travel list who needs permission to start on it.
Take the Trip, Live in the Moment
A gentle push for someone who has put off the big trip for years.
Say Yes to the Memories
For a parent or friend starting a chapter of photos, visits and saying yes.
You Get Old When You Stop Having Fun
For the one who has no intention of slowing down.
Never Too Late to Be What You Want
The cheekiest of the set, for a retiree with a good sense of humour.
Choosing a retirement print
Match the line to the person. Workplace send-offs usually suit the light-hearted prints (“No Hands on the Clock”, “Off the Clock”). For a parent, partner or close friend, the travel and memory lines tend to mean more, because they talk about what comes next rather than what is ending.
Printed or download? If the gift needs to arrive ready to hand over, choose a single print. We print it to order and ship it worldwide, and A4 prints can come framed in oak, black or white. If time is short, or you want several designs for a leaving do, the set is an instant download you can print at home or at a local print shop the same day. Our guide to printing digital wall art at home covers paper and printer settings.
A4 or US Letter? Both sizes come with the download. In the UK and Europe, A4 is the one to choose, because standard frames are made for it. There’s more on that in A4 frame sizes with a mount.
Make it part of the day. Prop one print on the cake table, put a small one inside the card, or have everyone sign the back of the mount. A print given at the leave-taking often ends up framed in the hallway at home.
Questions people ask
Can I send a printed retirement print straight to them?
Yes. Single prints are made to order and shipped worldwide, so you can enter their address at checkout and it goes straight to them.
How quickly do I get the download?
Straight away. Etsy emails the files as soon as payment goes through, and they stay in your Etsy purchases if you need them again.
What should I write in the card?
We’ve collected 20 lines in retirement card quotes about time, from funny to heartfelt, with a few tips on matching them to the person.
Is the set the same artwork as the single prints?
Yes. The eight designs in the set are identical to the single prints. The set is the download version of all eight together.
